Shell Lake is located approximately six miles west of Sand Springs. This lake was developed in 1922 with the completions of the dam.

A full time, year-round lake attendant is employed by the City of Sand Springs. Visitors wishing to fish/boat on the lake must stop by the attendant’s office.

A boat ramp and picnic facilities are available to the public. Overnight camping is not available.
